Expanded Cinema / Film Performance

Lugar a Dudas, Santiago de Chile (CO) 2nd of March 2017

This expanded cinema performance was kindly supported by the artist residency Lugar A Dudas in Santiago de Chile, Colombia and by Andres Jurado in collaboration with the students of La Javeriana Fine Art School in Bogota.

The process of this film performance is simple: to touch the celluloid and leave your finger print onto the surface.

The image is directly projected onto a wall. In Latin America the finger print is the most common legal way of identification, the inspiration for this project came from a visit of the national museum in Bogota and an historic picture showing three women with black ink on their index for the documentation of the first female right of vote for the generla election.

The digit is in photography a tabu, as I like breaking tabu's and focus on errors in media, it became the idea itself, simple and abstract.
